Learn about the philosophical meanings behind traditional batik motifs and sketch your chosen design onto cotton or silk fabric.

Master the use of the canting, a traditional tool filled with hot, liquid wax to draw detailed patterns on the fabric. This acts as a resist-dyeing method, preventing color from penetrating the waxed areas, after that apply dyes to your creation, often utilizing natural dyes to create vibrant colors. Experience the final, satisfying stage of boiling the fabric to remove the wax, revealing your unique, finished design.
